Signing Up Solo: How Free Agency Works

You do not need nine friends and a team name. Free agents are placed on rosters every season, and it is the most common way people start here.

The single biggest thing keeping people off a court is the belief that they need to arrive with a team. They do not. A large share of our players signed up alone.

What free agency means here

You register as an individual, and we put you on a roster that needs players. You get the same schedule, the same shirt and the same season as everyone who signed up together.

Which leagues suit a solo sign-up

Team sports with bigger rosters absorb free agents most easily — kickball, indoor volleyball, basketball. Doubles sports like pickleball and cornhole work too, and often pair free agents with each other.

  • Pick a sport from the calendar and check the start date
  • Register as a free agent rather than as a team
  • Watch for the roster email before the first game

What to expect on night one

Turn up, introduce yourself, and play. Every team we have ever placed a free agent on has been short of players and glad to see one.

If you would rather ask a person first, the numbers are on our contact page.
